Taxi Driver Locks Two Women Inside Car to Wait for Carpooling? Nanchang Transport Bureau Issues Notice
The Nanchang Municipal Transport Bureau of Jiangxi Province issued a situation statement via its official Weibo on the 6th, stating that on May 6, 2024, the bureau became aware of a situation reported by Douyin users that "a taxi driver forcibly locked two women who had already boarded the car inside the vehicle while waiting for carpooling passengers." It immediately launched an investigation. At 16:00 on May 6, the taxi involved was located, and the driver was summoned to the Qingshanhu Brigade of the Municipal Transport Law Enforcement Detachment to accept investigation. The investigation is currently being conducted in accordance with statutory procedures, and subsequent handling will be carried out in accordance with laws and regulations based on the investigation results.
