New Progress on Multiple Planned Railway Projects!

The soil and water conservation plan and the environmental impact assessment for the newly built Tongren-Jishou Railway, surveyed and designed by the China Railway Fifth Survey and Design Institute Group (CRFSDI), recently passed technical reviews by the Ministry of Water Resources and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, respectively. To advance the project's environmental impact assessment and soil and water conservation through technical review smoothly, the CRFSDI project team intervened early, using bridges in place of roadbed and combining permanent and temporary works to reduce construction land occupation; reducing spoil at the source and utilizing it as a resource to cut engineering spoil; and adopting bridge-tunnel combinations to pass through environmentally sensitive areas along the alignment, embedding environmental protection concepts throughout the design process and laying a solid foundation for subsequent preliminary design approval and construction start by year-end.

Pile Cap Construction Completed for Main Bridge of Songhua River Grand Bridge

Recently, the last pile cap for the main towers of the Songhua River Grand Bridge on the Southwest Ring Line of the Harbin Metropolitan Area was successfully poured, marking the official transition of the bridge's main tower construction from foundation work to substructure construction. The Songhua River Grand Bridge is one of the controlling and most challenging projects of the Harbin Metropolitan Area Southwest Ring project. The bridge has a total length of 6,796.68 meters; its main bridge is a 550-meter double-tower suspension bridge with main towers 96.4 meters high. The maximum water depth for construction of the main tower pile caps is 23.3 meters, and the pile caps adopt the largest-scale double-wall steel cofferdam structure in the province to ensure construction safety and quality control.
